Welcome to my fundraising page!

My name is Amber Gilson and I can't even express how excited I am to be a part of the Hands 4 Others Global Internship Program, but before I tell you about myself let me tell you a little bit about what this program is and what we stand for. We are concerned with solving the world's water crisis one dollar at a time; this year with a particular concern in installing water filtration systems in Hondarus. Our program works to support local organizations to create a lasting solution within the country and not just a temporary fix (a particularly amazing feature of the program for me).

Now let me tell you about myself and why this program touches me, and all of you, personally. Access to clean water is a basic human right and as an Interational Studies major, with a track in Human Rights, this program speaks to me and my very future. Water is life and without it nearly 3.6 million people die a year, almost half of that number being children. Without access to clean water people around the world are subject to water realted illness such as diarrhoea, typhoid, cholera, and dysentary.

I'd like you take a moment and put yourself into the shoes of nearly 39% of the world, and think of having to decide between allowing your children to die from thirst or risking their exposure to deadly diseases, such as the ones above. Now imagine a world where no one has to make that decision at all... you can help to achieve this. All it takes is a few minutes to donate or share this page with your friends and family.

Help us to solve the world water crisis, one dollar, one share, and one person at a time.
