Welcome to my fundraising page!

I am so excited to be a part of the Global Internship Program with Hands 4 Others. This organization is truly unique because it is empowering the youth to make a difference and help end the worlds water crisis. We are the genration of change!

The water crisis is something that everyone should learn about because it affects millions of people. In fact, over 700 million people don't have access to clean water.  Many people spend their day walking miles to get water. Water plays a key role in maintaing a persons health, and without it so many people suffer.

When I heard about H4O, I was immediately drawn in by their spirit, their values, and their drive to make a differnce in the world.  By empowering youth, they have already helped over 215,000 people in 15 countries gain access to clean water.  They have made such monumental change by having these values:

"OUR SHARED VALUES:

1. We believe leaders are no greater than those who follow them. We believe in servant leaders who encourage and empower those around them.

2. We believe a love for humanity takes precedence over any political affiliation. Though politics plays an important role in society, we believe in rallying behind causes that are a-political.

3. We believe those who come from a place of privilege have an opportunity and call to help those who are less privileged.

4. We believe young people are capable of doing immensely more than what they are often thought to be capable of accomplishing.

5. H4O believes that doing good has the ability to cross all political, racial, economic, cultural, gender, and social lines. We are an inclusive organization, and welcome all people to join us."

I have always had a passion for water.  I was a swimmer for 5 years and this experience helped shape who I am today.  I consider myself to have hit the "birth lottery" because I was born in a place with so many oportunties that have helped me grow and develop into a strong leader.  The idea that millions of people don't even have access to clean water, just doesn't sit right with me.  Something needs to be done.

I have had many opportunties to do some incredible volunteer work, including a service trip to South Africa, a college challenge with Habitat for Humanity,  working with North Albany middle school students in an after school program and so many more. Each one of these experiences has opened my eyes in new ways and I am excited to see what this global internship will teach me.

The money that I raise will go towards financing water filtration systems that will go towards places that need it the most. Also, I am working towards going with H4O to one of these countries and help put in the system. Being able to help these communities hands on will be an experience unlike any other and I could not be more excited! I have a goal of $3,000! While this seems like a big challenge, I am ready to take it on! I am planning to hold an event at Siena and an event in Beacon. Once I know more, I will post updates with all the details.

Help me support Hands 4 Others by making a donation. The process is fast, easy, and secure. I truly appreciate any support you can provide. It will benefit a great cause!
